Hereford

SPY SOME WINGED BEAUTIES. HEREFORD IS A YEAR-ROUND HOME TO BUTTERFLIES AND BIRDS, INCLUDING SAND HILL CRANES.

Right Now

Thanks to a mild, sunny climate, Hereford is prime birdwatching territory in Southeastern Arizona.

The small community of Hereford lies south of Sierra Vista along the San Pedro Riparian National Conservation Area. Back in the day, Hereford was a Southwestern Railroad stop for travelers heading from Tombstone, 15 miles to the northwest, down the San Pedro River en route to Naco, Arizona, and on into Mexico.

Hereford is a place of great natural beauty; hundreds of birds and butterflies migrate through this area all year. Area Bed & Breakfasts cater to avian lovers, some offering stay-and-play packages that include dining and golfing, along with birding. Other nearby attractions include Coronado National Memorialand Fort Huachuca.
